Future Features

This page is a running list of ideas, enhancements, and longer-term goals for the Advancement Trail project. You can freely edit this file to add notes or priorities.

Planned Additions

  • Troop-level settings page (Troop name, charter org, contact info, inactive patrol label, etc.)
  • Help & FAQ section for new troops
  • Video tutorials / walkthroughs for setup and reporting
  • Multiple-troop support (site can host several units independently)
  • Secure registration and login for troop admins
  • Per-troop customizable themes and logos
  • Advanced reports (Eagle progress analytics, time-to-rank graphs, service hours summaries)
  • Data export tools (PDF, CSV, and Google Sheets sync)
  • Mobile-friendly touch input for quick sign-offs

Ideas Under Consideration

  • Integration with Scoutbook or Troopmaster via API (if BSA allows access)
  • Offline mode / local caching for camp use
  • Role-based user permissions (Scoutmaster, Advancement Chair, Parent, Scout)
  • Badge photo uploads or “proof” attachments for sign-offs
  • AI-assisted report summaries or trend spotting
  • Optional dashboard widgets for upcoming events and rank reminders

Notes

Use this space to jot down new ideas or refinements as the system grows. Nothing here is functional yet—it’s just documentation for the roadmap.
